Check Your Permit Status

When checking the status of a permit, you have two choices.

- You can search for and view permits anonymously
This will show you the status and other details of the permit, but you will not be allowed to interact with the permit.  Permit interactions are limited to Registered and Logged in Users, and include scheduling inspections, making payments, and uploading/downloading plans and other files.

- You can log into your account and view permits you are associated with
Logging into a registered account allows you all of the same access as searching anonymously, but simplifies the process by providing you a list your own permits, or permits you are associated with.  You also gain the ability to interact with these permits by scheduling inspections, making payments, and uploading/downloading plans and other files.

To Search and View Permits Anonymously
This will show you the status and other details of the permit, but you will not be allowed to interact with the permit.  Permit interactions are limited to Registered and Logged in Users, and include scheduling inspections, making payments, and uploading/downloading plans and other files.

1)  Go to http://accela.co.kern.ca.us/citizenaccess and click on the Building menu option
From here you have a number of search options, such as a General Search, or you can search by Address, by Licensed Professional, or by Contact

2)  Select your Search method.  General Search is the default which includes most of the common search options.  You can change your Search Method from the dropdown list to the right of the screen (shown as General Search above)
TIPS:
- Record Number is your Permit Number
- When searching, try to use as little information as possible to identify your records.  For example, if you know the Address that you are looking for, only search for the Street Number and the Street Name, but leave off the Street Type.  The more you enter, the better chance that what you type won't match exactly to what the system has.
- You can do partial names/numbers.  For example if you live on "Sturgeon Creek Drive", "Sturgeon Creek would be the Street Name.  You can search for just "Stur" and the system will find Sturgeon Creek Drive.
- The "Search All Records" checkbox will expand your search to include results from every department in the system (currently includes Code Compliance and Planning).  Unchecking this option will limit your results to just Building Inspection.
